The salvation army ridge meadows ministries - Volunteer
Every day people in our community don’t have enough to eat. At The Salvation Army Ridge Meadows Ministries it is our goal to make sure that no one goes hungry. When a crisis hits and people find themselves with nowhere to go, there is always a warm and safe place to sleep at The Salvation Army. For people who need a bit longer to prepare themselves to live independently, our Genesis program is a life saver. Our staff care for people when they arrive, assessing their needs and assisting them to get the right services.
We can not do this work without our cherished volunteers. Opportunities include:
A compassionate and cheerful attitude is needed as our Dining Room Help. You will serve lunch or dinner to individuals who come to our meal program. You may also clear and clean the tables after the meal.
A Kitchen Cleaner helps loading dishwasher, washing dishes, general kitchen cleanup, wiping down kitchen equipment, putting stock away, and taking out garbage.
The Kitchen Helper has a multitude of duties. You may be asked to sort food donations, to serve up meals, to peel and chop vegetables, prepare sandwiches for lunch, tray desserts for dinner or simply just give a hand!
There are various needs for a Driver. You may be asked to pick up donations, drive someone to treatment, or pick someone up for church on Sunday.
Event Day Volunteers are needed for various short, one time shifts. Events like our Dignity Breakfast, Coldest Night of the Year, Caribbean Festival & Kettle season.
